Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) announced details of a commercial facility currently under development facing Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Tokyo (1-7-1 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) on the 27th. The facility's name has been decided as "CUTE CUBE HARAJUKU," which means "a treasure chest filled with girls' cuteness." The logo design, consisting of circles and squares, was created by art director Furuhira Masayoshi, who has worked on the corporate identity of Art Fair Tokyo, among other events. Satoru Takeoka, Business Promotion Team Leader of the company's Development Division, said, "We would like people to call it 'Kyukyu.' Takeshita Street is a place where teens aspire to be. 'Kawaii' is a concept that is firmly established around the world. We want this facility to spread this culture to the world." The facility will have three floors above ground and one below ground, with a total floor area of 1,893.57 square meters. A total of 10 stores will be opening, including apparel, general merchandise, and restaurants, primarily targeting women aged 15 to 19. The currently announced tenant is MONKI, an H&M group company. This will be the second store in Japan, following the one in Osaka's Shinsaibashi district. All tenants will be announced in August. Objects created by Masuda Sebastian, a pioneer of Harajuku kawaii culture, will be displayed at the first-floor entrance and on the third-floor terrace. Anticipating overseas tourists, the official website, signs within the building, and leaflets will be in multiple languages. The opening date is September 6th of this year.

"This facility is different in character from our previous projects. We think it will be a symbolic project. We are also considering incorporating it into a J-REIT," said Murata Koichi, CEO of the company.
