KENZO - LA COLLECTION MEMENTO, by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, held a show at the Trianon Theatre in Paris. Unlike the ready-to-wear collections presented during the men's collections, Memento, presented during the women's collections, pays tribute to the achievements of Kenzo Takada. This season, Hiroshima Kagura (traditional Japanese dance) was invited to perform alongside the clothes. The inspiration for the collection was KENZO Jeans, launched in 1986. Inspired by the denim released at the time, the collection features the original tag as a design, incorporating motifs such as Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa and a tiger in a bamboo forest, adding a touch of Hawaiian flair. The colors were based on two shades: indigo and a brownish red named Samurai Red, and the jeans were updated with high waists and wide cuts. Kimono sleeves and kimono bodice tops were also common, and the collection was styled uniquely with sun hats.
While referencing Takada Kenzo's creations, the collection added a new interpretation to create a modern and fresh look, exuding an even younger vibe than the ready-to-wear collection.
