On March 17, 2023, Paul Smith opened a Paul Smith cafe in Cafe Vert, located on the first floor of Paris' iconic department store, Printemps Haussmann. Inspired by Paul Smith's masterful use of color and signature stripes, the cafe is modern, playful, and a relaxing haven from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Featuring the vibrant palette of Paul Smith's iconic signature stripes, the space is influenced by brutalist architecture and mid-century interiors, particularly the designs of Ray Eames and Italian architect Lina Bo Bardi, and is meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail.

The multi-purpose interior, designed in separate areas, offers ample space for relaxation, dining, and work. Vintage furniture, such as Carlo Ratti's 1950s Italian dining chairs and Baumann's 1970s Halfa French chairs, are featured. Paul Smith's signature colored stripes are also seen in the 1960s Tatra lounge chairs, designed by Frantisek Jirad and featuring fabrics from longtime collaborator Maharam. The 1980s Memphis-style display tables are a reference to the postmodern Spring/Summer 2023 collection.

The interior is filled with a variety of antiques and vintage pieces, as well as bespoke furniture featuring Paul Smith + Maharam fabrics, while the outdoor terrace offers cosy moments under the shade of a custom-made signature striped parasol, whilst seated in Maison Louis Drucker dining chairs (iconic Parisian rattan café chairs).

Inspired by Paul Smith's pioneering photographic prints, artist and illustrator Alec Doherty has designed a series of cheerful, whimsical illustrations for the café, exploring contemporary café culture. The painterly and playful illustrations are featured on fine bone china plates, cups and saucers sourced from one of the UK's leading pottery factories, as well as on the tables and menus, creating a bright and airy atmosphere.

The cafe's menu also incorporates a quintessentially British flair. Light snacks such as Eggs and Soldiers and Marmalade Toast are served alongside traditional Parisian cuisine, including a classic afternoon tea "Tea Time" service.

Guests will also be able to purchase mementos of their visit, available exclusively at the cafe.
