Thom Browne presented his Spring/Summer 2018 men's collection at the Beaux-Arts (National School of Fine Arts) in Paris. The runway was displayed in three showcases, each displaying baby shoes, men's shoes, and heeled shoes. Models appeared wearing skirts and jackets with heeled pumps to the soundtrack of Sally Potter's 1992 film "Orlando" (based on Virginia Woolf's novel). "Orlando" depicts the protagonist, Orlando, reincarnated as a man and a woman through reincarnation, a theme perfectly matched with the image of the models in the collection. Shirt dresses, simple sleeveless dresses, pleated skirts, skin-tight double-breasted sleeveless jackets, and wrap skirts. Designer Thom Browne chose to dress male models in these feminine pieces and had them walk in heeled pumps. It was awkward at times and felt a bit strange, but at the end a model appeared wearing an outfit that was a tuxedo on the front and a wedding dress on the back, and the audience erupted in applause, still excited from the Gay Pride event held the day before.
