Thom Browne New York held its Fall/Winter 2017-18 men's collection show at an event center in the 19th arrondissement, on the border between Paris and its suburbs. The show opened with a trompe l'oeil jumpsuit designed to resemble a suit. It was paired with a floor-length white shirt and platform shoes resembling a turtleneck. Each of the 15 pieces in the series featured panels fastened with hooks and buttons, each adorned with over 1,000 rhinestone buttons. The color palette was muted yet decorative and glamorous. Another striking piece was a collection of 15 bodysuits, each collaged with suit and coat patterns. These were made by combining parts from the first series of bodysuits. Another 15 suits and coats adorned with hundreds of rhinestone buttons were also shown. These were the first and second bodysuit series, but were later adapted into actual suits and coats. The finale featured sets of three, one from each series. 45 pieces in total. It was a conceptual collection supported by an incredible amount of work.
