Chaumet will present its new high jewelry collection, "Lumieres d'Eau," at the Paris Biennale, running from September 11th to 21st. Inspired by various forms of water, from babbling brooks to the shimmering surface of lakes, the 53 pieces, each taking hundreds of hours to create using the atelier's venerable craftsmanship, are organized into 12 chapters, the same number as the Maison's address on Place Vendôme in Paris. Blue and yellow sapphires evoke the moon's reflection on the water's surface, while ripples of diamonds surrounding emeralds evoke childhood splashes. A necklace evoking the deep sea features gradations of black spinel and lapis lazuli. Diamonds crafted using the "knife-edge" technique reinterpret a secret watch and the 1904 "Staractalite" tiara. The pear-shaped (teardrop-shaped) diamonds are arranged in an arabesque pattern, representing spring water.
