The 40th Mode in France exhibition, a joint exhibition organized by the French Women's Ready-to-Wear Federation, will be held for three days from January 13th to 15th, 2016, at the Westin Tokyo in Ebisu, Tokyo, showcasing the 2016-17 Autumn/Winter collection.

Mode in France introduces the latest collections of women's ready-to-wear, leather, fur, and accessories to Japan ahead of joint exhibitions held in Paris, such as Who's Next and Tranoi. The 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection, held in January 2015, attracted 1,615 visitors from 1,060 companies. With the next 2017 Spring/Summer season, the venue will be moved to the underground banquet hall, making this the last time the exhibition will be held in guest rooms. This year, 46 companies and 54 brands will exhibit, including three companies and four brands exhibiting for the first time. The French Women's Ready-to-Wear Federation commented, "While we are not particularly affected by the Paris terrorist attacks, the number of exhibitors has decreased compared to 53 companies and 62 brands from a year ago, reflecting the economic situation in Europe and Japan. However, on the other hand, many of the exhibitors this year are well-established and influential, and some Japanese companies are refraining from traveling to Paris, so we are looking forward to visitors and business negotiations." Angelo Fiorella, exhibiting for the first time this year, will exhibit a collection focused on stoles. Laulhere, a beret maker founded in 1840 and designated a French intangible cultural heritage company, and Sabatier 1947, a women's leather bag maker, are also exhibiting for the first time. Sabatier 1947 will present its autumn/winter collection inspired by the changing nature and autumn colors, as well as items featuring fur.

Other brands include Mac Douglas, whose collection consists of 80% bags, which has reimagined its signature models to create a modern, trendy look. Giorgio, a fur and leather brand, will offer rider jackets, down jackets, and fur coats made from leather, mouton, fur, and fabrics. Lou Andrea will present a collection using rabbit, fox, mink, and leather. Paris-based Japanese designer Miki MIALY will also be participating for the first time in a year, and from Japan, Innocent Co., Ltd. will be presenting their women's brand Honore.

Please note that Mode in France is an exhibition aimed at industry professionals only, and admission is not available to the general public or students.
