Jul 23, 2015

The 39th "Mode in France" exhibition, showcasing the 2016 Spring/Summer collection, opened on the 22nd and continues through the 24th at the Westin Hotel Tokyo in Ebisu, Tokyo. 56 brands from 47 companies participated, including the first-time participants of six companies and eight brands from Maison du Savoir-Faire et de la Creation, a group of highly specialized French manufacturers in various fields. On the first day, the number of visitors and companies exceeded last year's figures. The six companies and eight brands from Maison du Savoir-Faire et de la Creation showcased the high level of technical expertise they have cultivated through OEM work with luxury brands. LG Couture, a sewing factory specializing in men's and women's woven fabrics, has been producing women's ready-to-wear for 30 years, including leading luxury brands. Samples using techniques such as inkjet printing and piping were on display. Socovet System is a sewing factory that produces ready-to-wear and luxury brand items popular at the Paris Collection. They also handle leather for luxury brands, and at the exhibition they will be showcasing leather and polo shirts, as well as their own brand in collaboration with Japanese stylists. Both LG Couture and Socovet System emphasized, "We have participated in international fashion fairs before, but we chose to exhibit here to promote French production and our own brand." Socovet System stated, "We would also like to collaborate with Japanese companies on OEMs and our own brand." Bleu Ocean is a sewing factory that specializes in denim for luxury brands and high-end sportswear. They can handle a variety of special processes, from traditional to customized. "We want to highlight the technical capabilities and production background of our specialized machinery, which are used in manufacturing for top brands." M.C.D. Confection, which accounts for 60% of its sales to the Japanese market, will be showcasing their skills in producing ready-to-wear as well as sportswear such as fencing, riding pants, and motorcycle wear. L'Atelier d'Arien, which has been manufacturing original equipment for famous fashion and interior brands for 20 years, is showcasing its sewing factory expertise, as well as its own women's brand and a new men's brand launched through a capital alliance with a fabric manufacturer. Makoza offers lingerie, swimwear, and cut-and-sew items. Maison du Savoir-Faire et de la Creation also introduced its "Platform des Fasonniers" website, which allows users to search for manufacturers. Users can search for company profiles and details of 700 to 800 companies that produce for famous brands by keyword or category, and even contact them. Shacoc is also exhibiting for the first time, having changed its design team, changed its logo color from red on white to black on white, and adopted a younger target audience. It is showcasing products aimed at a younger audience, such as coordinating patterned and solid colors and short tops. For the fourth edition of Guibert Paris, they collaborated with Ginette from New York, proposing products with a more fashionable feel in addition to their traditional designs, such as bags with embossed trademarks and bags with cutouts. "The response has been good, with orders coming in from select shops in the morning," they said.
