TOD'S has unveiled the advertising campaign for its Spring/Summer 2015 men's collection. The location for the campaign was the "Glass House," a masterpiece by architect Philip C. Johnson. The "Glass House" is a world-famous building built by Philip C. Johnson in 1949. The concept conceptualizes the real-life experience of architecture, transforming the phenomenon of "being seen" and "being visible" into a relationship of "not being seen" and "not being seen." The glass and steel structure questions the very concept of architectural possibility. To commemorate the advertising shoot, TOD'S recreated the "Glass House" in the gardens of Villa Necchi in Milan. The campaign featured the "City Spider," an evolved version of TOD'S' iconic "Gommino" shoe. The solid sole, which incorporates geometric elements into the iconic pebble pattern, embodies the artisanal craftsmanship and tradition of the Italian brand. The 15-16 AW collection was also unveiled at this location on January 18th.
In addition, this advertising shoot marks the first chapter of the launch of a new project, "Italian Travel Diary," based on the concept of "Italian style traveling the world." A teaser video featuring Philip Johnson has also been released ahead of the campaign.
