British brand Bottletop, which creates bags using can pull tabs, has released limited-edition collaboration items with designer Narciso Rodriguez and Pepsi.
The collaboration collection with Narciso Rodriguez features two handbags: "The Candice," named after South African model Candice Swanepoel, and "The Jessica," named after actress Jessica Alba. Featuring hand-painted Pepsi pull tabs and braided Brazilian leather, the bags come in two colors: black and beige. They are sold at Harrods in the UK and Jeffrey in the US.
A portion of the proceeds will be used to support health education activities for young people through the Bottletop Foundation. Pepsi, which is sponsoring this collaboration, has deep ties to pop culture and supports the cause of supporting young people and women on a global scale. "We are proud to be involved in supporting women and young people through this limited collaboration," Rodriguez said in a statement.
The Bottletop Foundation was founded in 2002 by Mulberry founder Roger Saul and his son Cameron. Their handbags, made from recycled African bottle caps and Mulberry leather, have garnered attention in fashion media around the world.
The Bottletop Fashion Company was founded in 2012 by Cameron and Oliver Wayman, one of the brand's directors. They use contemporary art and music to address issues such as HIV, drug use, and pregnancy among teenagers.
