Denime, celebrating its 25th anniversary, launched the eco-project "Re;project" this month. Bring your old Denime jeans and denim jackets to a Denime store and exchange them for a ¥5,000 coupon toward the purchase of classic denim. A limited-edition pair of jeans commemorating the anniversary will also be released. Based on a model created during the transitional period of vintage denim production after 1966, the jeans are faithfully reproduced down to the smallest detail, from the misaligned crotch bar sewn with fine thread count to the outseam split, front V-stitching, looped hem, and waistband stitching running over the patch. The jeans are made from a specially woven, approximately 15.5 oz. fabric dyed a deep, navy blue with a strong texture. The patches are made of deerskin. The silhouette is tapered with a slightly low rise. The jeans are sold in the brand's signature vacuum-sealed packaging. They will be available at the end of August for ¥34,650. Founded in 1988, Denime produces denim inspired by classic jeans from the 50s to 70s, and is known as a pioneer of replica jeans in Japan. The vacuum packaging was designed to keep the jeans in the same condition as when they were shipped until they were opened.
