Helly Hansen, a brand handled by Goldwin, will open its first Kansai flagship store, the Helly Hansen Kobe Store (1F, Kaigan Building, 3-1-5 Kaigan-dori, Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture), on August 23rd in the Kaigan Building on Kobe's Kaigan Street.
The 100-year-old Kaigan Building is designated as an Important Cultural Property for the Formation of Kobe City's Landscape and a Nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property, and features distinctive brickwork, stained glass, and skylights. The Kobe store, based on the keyword "water," reflects the deep connection between the Kaigan Building, located in a coastal area, and Helly Hansen, a brand associated with sailors. The store's concept is "be waterful." The open, comfortable store space will stock apparel and goods for spending time on the water.
Because of its location in Kobe, a separate room will be set up inside the store stocking apparel for enjoying sailing sports. The lineup features basic yet playful clothing and goods featuring the "HELLY HANSEN WATER" logo.
Helly Hansen was founded in 1877 when Helly J. Hansen, a captain in the Norwegian merchant fleet, retired from sailing at the age of 37 and established an oilskin cloth and canvas factory in the fjord-facing port town of Moss. With technological advances, the company offers new waterproof clothing, providing comfortable and functional support for outdoor sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and mountain climbing.
