Prada has opened its second flagship store in Kobe, located at the former Kobe Foreign Settlement. It is located at 27 Naniwa-cho, Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. The two-story store boasts a total floor area of approximately 1,000 square meters, making it the brand's third largest store in Japan. It offers women's and men's ready-to-wear, bags, accessories, and shoes. To celebrate the opening, Prada has released limited-edition bags crafted from its popular Saffiano leather. The store was designed by Italian architect Roberto Baciocchi, who has worked on numerous Prada and Miu Miu stores. The entrance, clad in black Marquina marble, features alternating light boxes and display windows. Glass and aluminum louvers allow light to permeate the entire space. The interior, like the exterior, is dominated by black. The floor is a checkerboard pattern of black and white marble, slightly distorted to create depth. Green is also used as an accent color throughout the store.
The women's area features green fabric walls and "Cloverleaf" sofas upholstered in green velvet, custom-made by Verner Panton. The men's area features ebony walls, steel, and black marble, with the display counter and sofas clad in red, green, and blue Saffiano leather.
Prada recently opened its largest flagship store in the Kansai region in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, in July of this year. Furthermore, its Ginza store will relocate and open on October 12th.
