"TouISM @ ISETAN Tsukimachi no Utage" (Tsuki-Machi no Utage), an event showcasing and selling works by 13 young ceramic artists, is being held at Global Dining on the 5th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku from August 27th through September 2nd.
This event focuses on the long autumn nights when you want to enjoy a drink while gazing at the moon, and features a lineup centered on sake ware. It also introduces a variety of items to decorate your dining table, such as plates and bowls that complement sake ware.
The sake ware ranges in price from around 3,000 to 8,000 yen. Because they are reasonably priced, they also make a great gift choice.
All 13 participating artists are potters who are active on the pottery industry information site "TouISM." Their average age is in their 30s and 40s. With the aim of conveying the appeal of pottery to visitors of the same generation, artists will also be holding demonstrations during the event. The demonstration will be given by Toyoda Masayo, a ceramic artist who mainly works with Mashiko ware. Other participating artists include Abe Shintaro, Amano Chiemi, Iwashita Muneaki, Ushio Keiko, Osawa Tetsuya, Kawasaki Moe, Tagawa Aki, Nemoto Koichi, Noda Akiko, Funakushi Atsushi, Matsumoto Ryota, and Murakami Yuji.
The venue will also have a Japanese atmosphere, proposing "Moonlit Hospitality." The entire venue will be used to express the joy of incorporating pottery into your lifestyle.
