The first major exhibition by Swedish ceramic artist Lisa Larson, "Nordic Rich Time: Lisa Larson," will be held at Matsuya Ginza from September 11th to 23rd. The exhibition features approximately 170 representative series selected by Lisa herself from her work at Gustavsberg, the ceramics manufacturer where she worked for 26 years, as well as approximately 60 one-of-a-kind pieces spanning her work from before she joined Gustavsberg to her recent works. The exhibition will feature a recreation of Lisa's summer house studio, where she spends every summer, and display her tools and tools. The adjacent shop will sell approximately 900 items, including limited-edition items created specifically for the exhibition, as well as a Japanese series featuring collaborations with traditional Japanese culture, such as chopstick rests and Imabari towels. Additionally, a special café, "Fantasticska Fika - Lisa Larson - A Delicious Moment of Coffee and Sweets," will be open only during the exhibition period.
Lisa Larson was born in 1931 in Herlunda, Sweden. She joined Gustavsberg as a designer at the age of 23. During her 26 years there, she produced approximately 320 different works. After leaving the company, she continued to work as a freelance designer. She is known in Japan for her cat pattern "Mikey," and is still active at the age of 83.
