Lucas Ossendrijver's LANVIN presented its Fall/Winter 2017-18 men's collection at the Palais de Tokyo.
As the recurring motif of "NOTHING" symbolizes, the collection focused on the construction and design of the clothes without any particular theme or collaboration. Even conventional pieces were enhanced with extraordinary and poetic details, successfully creating pieces that Lucas Ossendrijver describes as "punchy."
A coat with a large hood was symbolically coordinated with a scarf featuring the word "NOTHING" woven in jacquard, and the sleeves of the double-breasted jacket with rounded shoulders were pleated in the center to maintain the straight silhouette. A vintage-processed leather jacket features mouton at the collar and water-jet cutting at the leather where it meets the lining. A drop-shoulder sweater features exquisite cuts at the V-neck and medal-shaped embroidery as an appliqué. A blouson featuring the corporate logo-like "There Is Nothing" features patchworked shoulder cuts that create rounded edges, creating a new silhouette.
Each change is subtle, but they create big changes that leave a strong impression of what defines Lanvin.
