Lanvin held its Spring/Summer 2015 men's collection show in the hall of the Beaux-Arts (National School of Fine Arts).
Under the theme "Perfection is made perfect by the addition of imperfection," the collection focused on tailoring. This season, while featuring dropped, rounded shoulders, the collection avoided voluminous silhouettes and stuck to a straight I-line.
Although baggy pants were seen, skinny jeans were the norm. Many pieces featured minimal tailoring, lacking shoulder pads or lining, and outerwear was kept as simple as possible. A striking feature was the use of embroidered stitching that appeared to have been stopped midway across various items, symbolizing imperfection.
Also featured were gorgeous pieces typical of Lanvin, such as a T-shirt with hand-embroidered square fringe motifs. The originality and beauty of the materials, such as paper fabric and bonding, remain unchanged, and colors such as ice blue and blue-green, which are rarely used in men's clothing, are used to retain the existing Lanvin image, while the design strongly emphasizes that it has shifted in a minimalist direction, depicting a new image of Lanvin that evolves with the times.
