On January 25th, Lanvin presented its 2015-16 Autumn/Winter men's collection at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Designers Alber Elbaz and Luca Ossendrijver infused military wear with a fresh and luxurious feel. According to Ossendrijver, while a collection typically begins with choosing fabrics and styles, this season they didn't. Instead, they began by depicting a story, imagining the kinds of people you might encounter on the street. The models featured in the show were cosmopolitan, with the idea being "people with different skin, hair, and eye colors and a wide range of personalities." Each look was coordinated to match the individuality of the model, creating a unified, three-dimensional silhouette, while offering a greater sense of variety than ever before. Even men's classic items such as Chesterfield coats and trench coats are given completely different looks by using exclusive fabrics and adding details such as drop shoulders, accents with stitching or rivets, or a single gold accessory button.
Lanvin's thorough creations are evident even in the innerwear, with items such as T-shirts decorated with military-inspired rivets and cords and knitwear adorned with hand-sewn piping giving the entire collection a new dimension of luxury.
