On June 26th, Lanvin held its Spring/Summer 2017 men's collection show at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Artistic Director Lucas Ossendrijver emphasized the importance of freedom in the current climate surrounding fashion, and sought to further enhance his creative expression. The result, created by mixing a variety of fabrics and emphasizing craftsmanship, were pieces that exuded expressive, beautiful silhouettes and sensuality characteristic of Lanvin. A multicolored shirt sewn together from gradient tie-dye fabrics was coordinated with a coat with intentionally wrinkled sleeves. The pants were tucked for a relaxed feel. One of this season's keywords is "seduction," which is linked to freedom, and incorporates images of sexy women and designs of Cupid's arrows. Portraits of women were featured as prints on shirts and patches on blousons, while Cupid's arrows were embroidered on belts, brooches, and shirts. Reflectors were also an eye-catching detail, seen on drop-shoulder shirts and coats, and on jacquard pants with reflective side stripes on the inside. Another feature of this season was the large number of items that dared to show off imperfect beauty, such as with defected finishes and hand-sewn stitching. This collection once again demonstrated Lanvin's high level of creativity and cutting-edge spirit.
