In this series, "From Cities: Longing for Cities Around the World," we bring you the latest local news from Paris, Milan, New York, and other cities around the world, including notable addresses and authentic city snaps! We'll be sending you updates with the hopes of visiting these cities once we can travel abroad freely again in the near future.

In this 26th installment, we focus on pistachios, which are currently gaining attention in Japan. We tracked down Milanese fashionistas and gourmets.

When it comes to pistachios, the vibrant green pistachios from Sicily are famous. Did you know that pistachios, which are renowned in Japan for their low calorie content and nutritional value, are used not only in sweets but also in a variety of dishes? In Milan, roasted pistachio nuts are easily available at supermarkets. What's more, you can choose between salted and unsalted varieties, allowing you to use them in different dishes.

They're also perfect as a light snack to accompany prosecco or wine! Pistachios are a part of the Milanese diet.Let's take a look at a day in the life of a fashionista who is particular about pistachios.

"What's the appeal of pistachios?"
They're high in protein and low in calories. Their salty flavor adds a little kick to any dish, and the green color of Sicilian pistachios not only tastes good, but also enhances the beauty of your food.

"When do you eat pistachios?"
Food is part of fashion, so on my days off, I'll choose my favorite pistachio-flavored dishes at a stylish restaurant. There are even days when I indulge in pistachios from morning until night.

Now, let's take a look at Sarah's pistachio-filled day off!

 8:00 AM Breakfast

Pistachio brioche and coffee are Sarah's go-tos. With pistachio flavor right from the morning, we can't wait to see what kind of pistachio-filled meals she'll have in store!

1:30 PM Lunch at a Sicilian Restaurant

Bar is a restaurant frequented by Milanese fashionistas. When you think of Sicily, you think of pistachios. What kind of dishes can you enjoy there?

The first course is Spaghetti Vongole Pistachio! The vongole and pistachio cream create an exquisite harmony. If you like, you can squeeze some lemon on top to make it a perfect match with the vongole.

This is Cannolo Siciliano. Ricotta cheese cream topped with pistachios.

In the shop inside the restaurant, you can find Sicilian pistachios and pistachio cream. Perfect for breakfast or an aperitif.

3:00 PM Shopping

Shop at the pop-up store, opened exclusively for the holiday season inside Dolce & Gabbana's Bistro Martini Dolce & Gabbana.

The shop's vibrant colors are very eye-catching, and just looking around makes you excited. I was looking for panettone pistachio flavor. They had it! The packaging is also lovely, making it something you'll want to display in your room.

4:00 PM Afternoon Cafe Time

Stop by the long-established pasticceria "Sant Ambroeus" for coffee and sweets.

The glossy pink of the mousse contrasts beautifully with the green of the crushed pistachios

Pasticceria Sant Ambroeus is a long-established shop that represents Milan, founded in 1936. Located on the edge of the luxury brand street of Montenapoleone, this shop is always bustling with fashionistas and sophisticated Milanese.

8:00 PM Dinner

Pistachios are also a great way to end the day with dinner. I chose a pistachio-flavored pizza, which pairs perfectly with mortadella ham and mozzarella cheese.

Margherita is the quintessential Italian pizza. Pizzium, with its casual atmosphere, offers dishes based on authentic Neapolitan pizza dough and inspired by regional recipes. The dough is fermented for 24 hours, resulting in an irresistibly chewy texture. The combination of mozzarella cheese and pistachios, which you won't find at other pizzerias, is one of the restaurant's signature dishes.

And that concludes a day of pistachio-filled fun for fashionista and gourmet Sarah.

From dessert to dinner, combining everyday dishes with pistachios makes them even more delicious. Why not use this opportunity to find a way to enjoy pistachios that suits you?
