New York-based argan oil cosmetics "Sula NYC" on sale for a limited time at Isetan Men's

Jan 24, 2014

A pop-up store for SULA NYC, an organic skincare brand from New York, is open on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building. It will be open until January 28th. There are five products using organic argan oil as its main ingredient, including three serums. These include the Active Edition Unscented (20ml/starting at ¥3,800), a full-body serum that can be used on the skin, body, and hair; the Amazon Dew (20ml/¥3,800) body serum; and the Face Serum (20ml/¥4,800) a facial serum made with argan oil and natural oils such as sesame oil. Two products designed to wash away dead skin cells and impurities are also available. The brand's products include the slightly foaming Moroccan olive-based soap "Natural Exfoliating Soap" (118g/3,800 yen) and the "Mineral Clay Mask" (118g/2,800 yen) made from Moroccan mud, which can be used on the face, body, hair, and scalp.

The argan oil used by the brand is harvested from the nuts of the argan tree, which only grows in Morocco. Only 1 liter can be extracted from 100 kg of nuts, and it takes about 20 hours to extract that 1 liter. Due to its rarity and color after filtration, it is known as "golden oil."
