Pierre Hermé's charity event "Macaron Day" is being held. There will be a macaron election and free service.

May 31, 2013

PIERRE HERME PARIS will hold "MACARON DAY," a charity event promoting the appeal of macarons, on June 21st. A campaign will be held from June 1st to June 21st.
Pastry chef Pierre Hermé started Macaron Day in his boutique eight years ago, and it's held annually in France on March 20th. It has grown in size every year and has now become a major charity event, with many members of the internationally acclaimed association of pastry chefs, Relais Desserts, participating.
In Japan, the event is held annually on the summer solstice. Since last year, a public relations ambassador has been appointed, with the first ambassador being Licca-chan. This year, the ambassador has been chosen: Ryosuke Irie, a backstroke medalist who loves macarons. Irie's favorite macaron, "Depayse," will be sold for a limited time during the event.

Other promotions include free macarons (June 21st only, excluding some stores), the sale of a limited-edition gift box (8,400 yen) containing 20 flavors of macarons, the installation of a donation box, and a "Macaron Election" where fans can vote for their favorite macaron flavor. During the voting period, election posters highlighting the unique characteristics of each candidate macaron will be on display, and votes will be accepted at the Aoyama boutique and on the official website. The results will be announced in early July.
Message from Irie

Donations raised through this campaign, as well as proceeds from the macarons, will be donated to the Certified NPO National Network for Supporting Children with Incurable Diseases.
