Vivienne Westwood launches poet training project with British NGO

May 31, 2013

Climate Revolution, a global environmental protection project led by Vivienne Westwood, and YOUYOU Mentoring, a UK-based program supporting young people's career development, have teamed up to launch a project to nurture the next generation of poets.

The project will select five young people aged 17 to 21 living in London. They will participate in a special advanced class taught by poets and special guests. At the end of the program, they will present a poem on global environmental issues at a reading held at the memorial museum of John Keats, one of Britain's most renowned poets.

Climate Revolution, founded by Vivienne Westwood, has raised awareness of global warming and encouraged participation in environmental protection activities through events and projects such as fashion shows. YOUYOU Mentoring was founded in 2010 by Brenda Ramsey. Professionals from various fields provide guidance to young people who are interested in creative fields but are unable to find work for various reasons, helping them acquire the unique skills necessary for career development through activities such as creating resumes and portfolios and collaborating on projects with well-known companies.
