Prada opens flagship store in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, designed by Roberto Baciocchi

Jul 3, 2013

Prada will open a new flagship store in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, on July 13th. The address is 2-8-18 Shinsaibashisuji, Chuo-ku, Osaka. The five-floor store, covering approximately 1,100 square meters, will be the second largest in Japan after the brand's flagship store in Aoyama, Tokyo. It will carry bags, clothing, shoes, sunglasses, and men's and women's collections. The store was designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, who also designed the brand's Nagoya store and Miu Miu stores. To commemorate the opening, a tote bag made from Prada's signature Saffiano embossed calf leather will be available in a two-tone colorway exclusive to the store. Saffiano is one of the brand's signature materials. A special technique is used to press the leather into a fine grain pattern before the finishing process. The bag has a pocket on the inside and a strap that can be worn diagonally. It is priced at 172,200 yen and is available in two colors: marine blue/aqua blue and fuchsia pink/pink.
