Moomin authentic soba cups and salt plates now available

Apr 2, 2014

The SOMETSUKE series, a collaboration between MOOMIN and amabro, a product brand created by artist Amane Murakami, will be joined by two new items: sake cups (2,000 yen each, 6,000 yen for a set of three) and teshio plates (1,000 yen each, 5,000 yen for a set of five).

The world of Moomin is expressed using the gosu sometsuke technique, which is often used on porcelain such as Arita ware. The soba sake cups are based on traditional Japanese auspicious motifs, and the characters weave a story with the underlying pattern. The small plates, decorated with background patterns often used in sometsuke dishes, feature patterns around the edges that are related to the personalities of each character. Both come in gift packaging.
