"1000 CUP MARCHE—Tableware for Enjoying Coffee—" will be held from September 10th to 23rd at the Japanese and Western Tableware Department on the 5th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. This project features 10 different pieces, a total of 1,000 different tableware pieces, created by 100 artists. This is the cup and saucer version of the popular "1,000 Tableware" project on the Living Room Floor. The unique pieces will evoke countless different coffee experiences for visitors. According to the project manager, "Each piece is unique, so if you make it your own, you'll feel even more attached to it. We have a wide selection of products to enrich your daily coffee time." The saucers also come in a variety of shapes, including some with spaces for placing tea and snacks, and they're not limited to round shapes, but range from rectangular to star-shaped. As there were no restrictions on creation, it was easy for the artists to bring out their own individual style, resulting in the creation of many works with a story to tell. The average price range is 3,000 to 10,000 yen, making them an affordable price to consider not only as a gift but also for personal use.

With the recent coffee boom, many people are roasting their own coffee, and this project was launched with the desire to encourage people to pay attention not only to the way they brew their coffee, but also to the container they use. Once you find your favorite cup, you're sure to want to pay attention to the beans as well.
