The "Taiwan Fair" is being held until May 31st at the Garden Terrace on the third floor of the Yokohama Expo Center, a commercial facility in Yokohama Chinatown.
Based on the concept of "Yokohama x Taiwanese Deliciousness and Relaxation," the fair offers Taiwanese sweets with new textures and rare Taiwanese coffee, specially developed and supervised by Hiroyuki Makino, Grand Chef of BABON patisserie in Yokohama Tama Plaza. The interior decorations, tableware, and background music all create an authentic Taiwanese atmosphere, creating a fusion of nostalgia and the sophistication of Yokohama throughout the store. This fair allows you to enjoy a special "Taiwan Time."
One notable item is a bold new dessert that is a bold transformation of the healthy Taiwanese dessert "douhua" made with soy milk. There are three varieties available, each priced at 650 yen: "Yokohama Douhua Mango," made with a coconut milk base, douhua, mango, tapioca, shiratama rice dumplings, fluffy mango meringue, and pink peppercorns; "Yokohama Douhua Berry," which combines douhua with bright red raspberry sauce, pistachios, and four kinds of berries; and "Taiwan Douhua," an original recreation of traditional Taiwanese douhua. Also available are "Taiwan Coffee" (600 yen), which is produced in extremely small quantities and has a refined, rich sweetness and aroma not found in other producing areas, and "Taiwan Coffee Blancmange" (280 yen, or 200 yen with a drink), which uses Taiwanese coffee as an ingredient.
