Experience the Parisian lifestyle in Yokohama with flea markets, marchés, film screenings, and more

Mar 12, 2017

"France Fair (My Paris)," an event where you can enjoy the charm and culture of France, will be held at Yokohama Bay Quarter from March 16th to April 27th.

The fair is the first in the "World Trip" promotional project held by Yokohama Bay Quarter throughout the year to introduce lifestyles from cities and countries around the world. During the fair, various events that evoke the French spirit are planned, such as French cinema screenings, flea markets, and marchés.

The opening ceremony of French-born boulangerie "Delifrance," which opens on the same day, will be held on March 16th, the first day of the event. The new store style, which is being introduced to Japan for the first time, will sell a special lucky bag containing an assortment of popular breads such as croissants on a first-come, first-served basis for three days only, and will also give away roses inspired by the city of flowers, Paris. In addition, the facility will host its first French cinema screenings on March 28th and April 18th (advance tickets: 800 yen / same-day tickets: 1,000 yen). Two films starring Parisian icon Catherine Deneuve will be screened: "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" on March 28th and "The Young Girls of Rochefort" on April 18th. Guests can enjoy tea or champagne while watching the films. Other events planned include a "French Used Book Fair" in collaboration with the nonprofit organization Français du Monde on April 16th, a one-day "Petit Flea Market" featuring vintage posters and art, "Kamome Marché Très Biens!" featuring fresh vegetables and imported foods from France on March 25th and April 22nd, and a "Beauty Marché" offering casual organic beauty experiences on April 8th and 9th.

In addition, there will be street performances featuring accordions and violins on March 16th and 26th, and April 16th and 23rd, allowing visitors to enjoy a French atmosphere throughout the event.
