Isetan Mitsukoshi's overall December sales, including branch sales, announced on January 4th, were down 2% compared to the same month last year, marking the first year-on-year decline in two months.

At Isetan Shinjuku Main Store, sales increased in the women's accessories and shoes departments, which were remodeled after November, due to bulk purchases by Asian tourists and those returning home from their hometowns. The women's fashion floor, which reopened on December 5th after remodeling, saw a reduction in product floor space, but the newly opened "Park" section saw strong sales, including the "Restyle Gift" product line. The store performed well during the Christmas season. As a result, Isetan Shinjuku Main Store's December sales were down only 1.8% compared to the previous year, despite the impact of store closures for renovations.

At Mitsukoshi Nihombashi Main Store, December sales were slightly below the previous year, despite strong sales during the Christmas season for related goods and jewelry.

Sales at Mitsukoshi Ginza store in December were strong in the first half of the month, with imported toys and other specialty gifts performing well, and then soaring during the three-day weekend at the end of the month due to demand for special gifts, achieving sales figures from the previous year.
