First sales at major department stores in Tokyo, Isetan Mitsukoshi postpones clearance sales following the summer

Jan 3, 2013

Among department stores nationwide, Sogo and Seibu will be open from New Year's Day. Major department stores in Tokyo began their New Year's sales on January 2nd.

Although Isetan Shinjuku Main Store will not be holding a clearance sale, a line of nearly 10,000 customers formed before the store opened. The store opened 20 minutes earlier than usual, at 9:40am. New Year's-themed promotions such as special New Year's festival items and New Year's gift bags have been going well, and sales targets are expected to be achieved.

Following on from the summer, the clearance sale will be postponed to January 18th.
