Responding to changing gift needs, a restyled gift shop is born

Dec 4, 2012

In conjunction with the remodeling of the fashion floor on the third floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Store, the previously limited-time Re-Style gift shop has been re-opened as a permanent location in the East Park area around the east escalators. Based on the concepts of usefulness x trend, usefulness x pop, and usefulness x modern, the store offers a selection of goods curated with Isetan's unique fashion perspective. In response to changes in consumer purchasing habits, the store is cultivating a new market for gift-giving. The store offers a wide variety of products, including acrylic products by Alexandra von Furstenberg, daughter-in-law of Diane von Furstenberg, making her Japan debut; ceramics brand Jonathan Adler, known for its iconic beard relief; and the maternity line of British skincare brand Cowshed. Additionally, the Snow Globe Museum, featuring snow globes, is open until December 25th. A special piece from Mina Perhonen signed by designer Akira Minagawa and a special package set with a candle from Vida Feliz are available exclusively at Isetan Shinjuku. Other items in the lineup include the long-established Austrian brand Perzi. "We aimed for a more pop selection compared to West Park's timeless product selection. As it's a fashion floor, we've selected items aimed at mature women," says buyer Nakakita Shinji. Taking advantage of the connections between Isetan buyers and designers, various collaborative products are planned to be developed in the future.
