On August 28th, Shu Uemura and Maison Kitsuné unveiled their 2015 Holiday Collection, a collaboration between the two brands. The unveiling took place at Yushima Seido in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward. The main venue, the courtyard in front of the Taiseiden Hall, was adorned with beautiful projection mapping, and staff members holding fox-themed balloons welcomed the audience. Shortly after the doors opened, a live performance by Beau, a duo signed to the Kitsuné label, began. Heather Boo, lead singer of Beau, filled the air with a crystalline sound in a dreamlike atmosphere. She also serves as the muse for this collection. As soon as she finished singing, the doors to the Taiseiden Hall slid open, and a makeup show began, featuring the artists and models clad in Maison Kitsuné looks. The makeup products and the collection itself, which were unveiled that day, were on display. True to the theme of "beauty remix 2015 EAST meets WEST," which blended timeless Parisian elegance with Eastern influences, the models took on an increasingly exotic air as their makeup progressed. After their transformation, they captivated the audience with a dashing walk through the courtyard.
The "EAST meets WEST" theme was also fully incorporated into the venue's décor. Colorful, danced motifs symbolizing East and West—dresses and kimonos, berets and hats, croissants and manju, lilies and plum blossoms, coffee and green tea—transported the audience into a dreamlike world.
Finally, Beau returned to the stage and sang a powerful tune, greeting the audience alongside creative directors Gilda Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki. The evening concluded with a vibrant display of light and sound. The holiday collection "Maison Kitsuné for Shu Uemura" will go on sale on November 1st. It features a diverse lineup ranging from cleansing oil (150ml 4,200 yen, 450ml 11,500 yen) to palette kits (two limited edition colors 8,500 yen each) and false eyelashes (3,000 yen each). Additionally, a makeup box will also be available for purchase on December 1st.
