"Little Devil" and the White Ghost "Whisper" - New Halloween & Fall/Winter Sweets Available at Hyatt Regency Tokyo

Oct 10, 2016

The pastry shop at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo is offering sweets for the Halloween season and autumn and winter. The three Halloween treats on offer are not only flavorful but also visually appealing. The "Bat" (580 yen), decorated with bat-shaped chocolate, is a rich chocolate cake layered with high-cocoa ganache and moist, deeply flavorful biscuit chocolate. The "Whisper" (580 yen), featuring a white ghost's face, combines two types of cheesecake—a baked soufflé cheesecake and a rare cheesecake—into one. This rich, smooth cake is flavored with fig and nut cream. The "Little Devil" (580 yen), decorated with devil's horns, is a sweet and sour ball-shaped cake made with rich chocolate mousse and a hidden griotte cherry jelly and compote. Its crunchy crust makes it a delightful cake for adults.

In addition, new autumn/winter items include a variety of sweets made with seasonal fruits such as apples, pears, and yuzu. "Mille-feuille Pomme" (570 yen) is a jar of caramelized apples combined with pie crust and caramelized almonds. The almond-flavored mascarpone cream brings the whole thing together. "Fig Epise" (570 yen) is a luxurious jar of spiced chocolate cream filled with red wine jelly and a whole fig stewed in red wine. The crunch of chocolate at the bottom adds a nice texture. "Panna Cotta Yoult Raisin" (580 yen) is a verrine of Delaware and yogurt panna cotta. A refreshing non-alcoholic white wine jelly is paired with Delaware, and grapefruit jelly adds a touch of acidity. It is a refreshing and colorful verrine perfect for autumn. The fresh, autumn-like "Poire Caramel" (580 yen) is made by layering pear jelly, mousse, and sautéed pears on top of a rich caramel mousse.

"Brittany Pomme" (580 yen) is a cake that combines cider mousse with apple compote and caramel ganache. It is a dessert inspired by the Brittany region, famous for its apple production. "Gâteau au Chocolat Agrume" (580 yen) is a cake that layers citrus compote and hazelnut cream on a thick, rich yet smooth gateau au chocolat, and is wrapped in rich chocolate mousse. Ginger crumble adds a touch of variety to the flavor. "Arome Hiver" (580 yen) is a dish that layers hazelnut crunch, biscuit, and mousse with yuzu jam and yuzu and chocolate cream for a subtle aftertaste. This cake gives you a sense of the arrival of winter in Japan and has a nostalgic taste.
