
Japanese confectionery shop HIGASHIYA has been selling yokan, a sweet bean jelly made with seasonal chestnuts, for a limited time since October 8th.
The new product is "Chestnut Steamed Yokan" (1,500 yen), made with the luxurious use of whole domestic chestnuts. Chestnuts simmered in candied sugar with the skin on are wrapped in natural bamboo skin along with specially made steamed yokan, and then steamed slowly and carefully. You can enjoy the flavor of chestnuts and the just the right amount of sweetness of the yokan along with the soft, chewy texture.
The sale period is scheduled to end in early December. It is available at HIGASHIYA GINZA, HIGASHIYA man, and the HIGASHIYA official website (http://www.higashiya.com).
