HIGASHIYA releases a seasonal limited edition "Kakigoromo," a dried persimmon from Nagano Prefecture sandwiched with melt-in-your-mouth butter.

Sep 5, 2016

From October 4th to late January 2017, Japanese confectionery shop HIGASHIYA will be offering their winter staple "Kakigoromo" (1 piece/450 yen, paulownia box of 5 pieces/2,550 yen, paulownia box of 8 pieces/3,900 yen) for a limited time only, which uses whole dried persimmons.

"Kakigoromo" is a popular staple product from HIGASHIYA that uses a whole Ichida persimmon from Nagano Prefecture. Special white bean paste and thinly sliced butter that melts in your mouth are sandwiched between the Ichida persimmon and then generously coated with Jonan flour. The subtle saltiness of the butter brings out the sweetness of the dried persimmon and white bean paste.
