YUMA KOSHINO presented its 17SS collection at Shibuya Hikarie on October 21st. This season's theme was "Optical Illusion." Inspired by Escher's paintings, the collection expressed optical illusions through prints, jacquards, and pattern work. Tweed and denim materials, while mixed yarns, appear grayish and monochromatic from a distance. Layers of fabrics create volume, while cutting creates a sharp look, continuing the theme's theme. Trompe-l'oeil dresses, featuring graphic color blocks, jungle prints, checks, and stripes, and matching denim patchwork jackets, also feature powerful colors and a cute impression. The curves of pleated dresses and skirts evoke Escher's flowing water motifs, and the skirt hemlines reveal various shapes and patterns depending on the angle.
