The fashion magazine "Soen" released its 80th anniversary issue, "The Impulse of Design: Messages from 80 Creators - What it Means to Move People's Emotions" (596 yen) on October 28th.

For the 80 years since its founding, "Soen" has continued to disseminate fashion and culture, sometimes cutting-edge and sometimes never before seen. This 80th anniversary issue, themed "The Impulse of Design," brings together messages from over 80 geniuses and prodigies who have expressed the impulses of the times.

The main feature is messages from fashion designers. A total of 44 designers, including Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, Akira Minagawa, Jun Takahashi, Junko Koshino, Hiromichi Ochiai, and Kunihiko Morinaga, share their first works and turning points in their lives, along with their own photographs and writings.

Also, as visual messages from the creators, Yoshida Yuni and Aizawa Itsuki's work featuring an 80-year-old model as a candle will be featured, and model SUMIRE will be wearing a dress made by stylist Endo Rika using fabric printed with the cover of the first issue. Other works featured include the "OMEDETO KUMADE DOLL," which depicts Nogizaka46 member Ito Marika as a lucky rake, and "Dress for Special Occasions," which features actress Komatsu Nana wearing a giant dress. Hey! Say! JUMP's Inoo Kei will also be appearing in the Soen Danshi Special.

The book is packed with content, including handwritten congratulatory messages from Yuka Mannami, Chara, Sho Ayakoji, Ichiro Yamaguchi, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Nana Komatsu, Masahiro Higashide, Mitsuki Takahata, and more, as well as messages from photographers such as Yoshiyuki Okuyama, Sayo Nagase, Kotori Kawashima, and Yume Miyahara through a single photograph, and "SO-EN REVIVAL!" by Musubi Aoki x Ryosuke Uehara and eri x Motofumi Nakajima.
