From November 1st to December 25th, the Shin-Enoshima Aquarium in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, will host a romantic Christmas display as the final chapter of its special nighttime event, "Night Wonder Aquarium 2016: An Aquarium Drifting in the Moonlight," which began in July.
"Night Wonder Aquarium 2016: An Aquarium Drifting in the Moonlight" creates a mystical space with the help of fish, digital technology, lighting, and sound. For this final chapter, various areas of the aquarium will be decorated with Christmas decorations. The staircase just inside the entrance, which depicts a large sea turtle leisurely swimming in the night ocean, will be transformed into a Christmas-themed seascape. The mysterious video cubes lining the corridor on the second floor of the Sagami Bay Large Aquarium will react to people's movements and display a reindeer sleigh moving back and forth. Additionally, the Sagami Bay Large Aquarium will offer a full-view of images, enveloping light, and sound, and this Christmas version will recreate the sea on Christmas Eve.
The Shinkai II - Shinkai 2000 - is Japan's first full-scale manned submersible research vessel, which contributed to the development of deep-sea research in Japan for over 20 years from 1982 to 2002. On board, you can enjoy the beautiful snow falling in the deep sea, as well as observe rare deep-sea creatures swimming in the air in 3D. Additionally, the Nagisa Experience Learning Center offers interactive content based on the concept of "An aquarium where you can become a fish on a moonlit night." Your face will appear as an original character in the dream of the fish of Sagami Bay.
The Ocean Cafe and Ocean Bar inside the center will also be offering special menus. In addition to the "Jellyfish Planet Cocktail" and "Moonlight Coke," a new menu item, "Moonlight Christmas," will be added.
