Omotesando Hills will be holding its Christmas promotion, "OMOTESANDO HILLS CHRISTMAS 2016 with Panasonic Beauty," from November 9th to December 25th.
During the event, a 10-meter-tall "Star Tree" featuring a large, 10-sided star object will be installed in the center of the main building's atrium staircase to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the opening of Omotesando Hills. The tree will be adorned with approximately 15,000 gold and white LEDs, as well as flashlights that evoke the twinkling of stars and shooting stars, to create the illusion of various stellar sparkles. The ceiling will also feature 10 star objects and a mirror ball, as well as approximately 20,000 Swarovski elements and approximately 15,000 LEDs in a line, creating the illusion of a starry sky.
Additionally, two Christmas illumination displays will be held using the tree, based on the theme "Find your stars: A starry Christmas." One of the interactive performances, "Star Magic," involves waving a star stick at the tree from a booth set up under the large atrium staircase, and a magic trick (special illumination) begins. There are three types of magic tricks available: "Happy Magic," in which stand-shaped star objects displayed on the staircase light up one by one from the bottom up, and finally, the star at the top of the tree lights up; "Special Magic," in which the top of the tree lights up like an aurora; and "Miracle Magic," which begins a spectacular performance that makes you feel as if you are surrounded by a starry sky, and can only be seen about once every 20 times.
There will also be "Starry Sky," which features three special performances using lighting and original music, performed every 20 minutes. From 0 to 3 minutes past every hour, champagne glasses, diamond patterns, and the word "BRILLIANT" will be projected onto the floor of the grand staircase landing, and the entire place will be enveloped in gold light for the "BRILLIANT - The Beginning of a Starry Sky Party" performance. From 20 to 30 minutes past every hour, red lighting, which evokes overflowing love, will be used, and the word "LOVE" and hearts and ribbon patterns reminiscent of Christmas presents will float on the floor for the "LOVE - A Star Gift for Your Loved One" performance. From 40 to 43 minutes past every hour, the tree will change colors, climaxing with a green color, and the word "DREAM" will be projected onto the floor along with Santa Claus, reindeer, and Christmas ornaments for the "DREAM - The Star That Makes Dreams and Wishes Come True" performance.
