Following on from last year, Stella McCartney launched its breast cancer awareness campaign, "No Less a Woman (#nolessawoman)," on October 5th.
Comedian Chelsea Handler has been appointed to this year's campaign. In addition, on October 1st, a lingerie set from Stella McCartney's new signature line, "Stella Lace," which was born from the Stella McCartney 2016 Fall/Winter lingerie collection, was released.
The set, which includes a balconette bra (7,000 yen) and bikini briefs (4,000 yen), features a sexy, supportive, sporty silhouette in sweet pink and lace accents. The collection will be available at Stella McCartney stores worldwide, the official online store, Bon Marché, Saks Fifth Avenue, and online at NET-A-PORTER.COM, with a portion of sales going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in the US and the Linda McCartney Centre in Liverpool, UK, to support efforts to provide the most advanced early detection programs and treatments for breast cancer patients.
Also this year, a new post-double mastectomy bra, "Louise Listening" (15,000 yen), newly designed by Stella McCartney, will be released. All proceeds will be donated to the Hello Beautiful Foundation, a London-based charity founded by Jane Hutchison, to help fund a new London facility for breast cancer patients and their families. About 'Louise Listens', Stella McCartney said: "The tragic reality of having a double mastectomy is a range of emotions, so I wanted to give women who have had the surgery something to be proud of and not feel ashamed of. I wanted them to know that they can still be feminine, sensual, a woman and feel beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside."
