Viabas begins selling jewelry from the descendants of Ethiopian royal families. Order at Midtown.

May 3, 2014

VIA BUS STOP has begun carrying Liza Belachew, a jewelry brand created by a descendant of a royal family of the Ethiopian Empire. A special corner will be set up at the VIA BUS STOP Roppongi Midtown store until May 26th. Items not normally available will be available to order on a made-to-order basis. Customers at the VIA BUS STOP stores in Daikanyama, Midtown, and Shibuya Hikarie will also receive a free anniversary handkerchief featuring the brand's "FLOWER CROSS" motif. Liza Belachew, whose father is a descendant of an Ethiopian imperial court painter and whose mother is Japanese, is responsible for the design. The brand offers over 80 fine jewelry pieces in four categories: rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, featuring motifs of Ethiopian art, culture, and nature. For the first season, the brand focused on two themes: the "Coptic Series," which was inspired by Ethiopian Orthodox religious paintings, and the "Ethiopian Rose Series," which represented Ethiopian roses. The brand presented jewelry based on 18k gold, featuring precious and semi-precious stones such as diamonds, rubies, and sapphires.
