
Actor Yosuke Kubozuka was born on May 7, 1979, in Kanagawa Prefecture.
He made his acting debut in the 1995 TV drama "The Kindaichi Case Files." He appeared in minor roles in two-hour and late-night dramas, and rose to fame with his role as a student in "GTO" (1998). In 2000, he was selected to play a leading character in "Ikebukuro West Gate Park."
In 2001, he starred in the film "GO," becoming the youngest person to win the Japan Academy Award for Best Actor. He followed with hits such as "Ping Pong," "Kyouki no Sakura," and "Makai Tensho." However, in May 2003, he announced his marriage to a non-celebrity woman. His first son was born in October, and he took a break from showbiz to raise his child. He also made headlines in 2004 when he fell from the ninth floor of an apartment building, briefly leaving him in critical condition. He returned to acting in 2005, and began his musical career under the names "卍LINE" and "Kusui" in 2006. His films "Ai no Uzu" and "3/1" are currently in theaters.
