
Film director Michel Gondry was born on May 8, 1963, in Versailles, France. While studying graphic arts in Paris, he played drums for the band "Oui Oui." Shooting their music video led him to direct videos for other musicians. In 1993, he met Björk and directed her music video for "Human Behavior." Its unique worldview garnered acclaim. Since then, he has directed music videos for artists such as Björk, The Rolling Stones, Chemical Brothers, and Daft Punk. He has also worked on numerous television commercials for Levi's, Gap, and Coca-Cola. His 1994 Levi's Jeans "Drugstore" commercial won the Golden Lion at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. In 2001, he made his directorial debut with the feature film "Human Nature." His 2004 romance film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" was also a huge hit, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. He has also directed and written films such as "The Good Shepherd," "The Green Hornet," and "Mood Indigo."
