King & Prince’s Kaito Takahashi to Hold His First Solo Exhibition, “Fushigi na Seroru Exhibition”—A Creative World Expanding from Seroru

Event Date:2026.09.11-09.28

Kaito Takahashi of King & Prince will hold his first solo exhibition, Fushigi na Seroru Exhibition created by Kaito Takahashi. Opening on September 11, 2026, at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO in Shibuya, Tokyo, the exhibition will subsequently travel to Shinsaibashi, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sendai, and Sapporo. At its center is Seroru, a mysterious creature created by Takahashi himself, whose world unfolds through a variety of expressions—from illustrations and three-dimensional works to video, spatial installations, and interactive experiences for visitors.

Rather than simply viewing the works, visitors are invited to step inside their world and engage their own imaginations. Through his first solo exhibition, a small character born from Takahashi’s creativity expands into an entire world.

It All Begins with a Mysterious Creature Called Seroru

Large ears, bird-like feet, a fluffy body, and eyes filled with tears. Seroru is a mysterious creature created by Takahashi.

Since first appearing on his social media in 2024, Seroru’s world has gradually expanded through artworks combining illustrations with photographs from everyday life, as well as collaborations with various artists.

What makes this exhibition particularly compelling is that Seroru is not presented simply as a character. The expression evolves from illustration into three-dimensional forms, video, and spatial installations. Seroru, once confined to a two-dimensional image, gains a physical presence and an environment of its own—one that visitors themselves can enter.

This expansion of expression, with a single character as its starting point, is one of the defining aspects of the exhibition.

From Illustration to an Entire Space

To bring this world to life, Takahashi is collaborating with creators working across different disciplines.

SAMPO Inc., a creative collective whose practice spans architecture, sound installations, and video production, is involved in the spatial direction and creation of works. moi., whose work centers on animation while extending into graphics and video, is responsible for the art direction of the key visual, video production, and merchandise design.

Beginning with the Seroru envisioned by Takahashi, the expertise of these different creators transforms a world that once existed in one person’s imagination into a physical environment that visitors can walk through, see, and feel.

Speaking about the exhibition, Takahashi has described the experience he is creating as one that will “stimulate the imagination,” “spark curiosity,” and be “experienced with the whole body.”

Rather than an exhibition in which works are viewed from a distance, the aim appears to be an experience that allows visitors themselves to step into the world inhabited by Seroru.

Creating “Your Own Seroru”

One element that embodies this idea is the “Your Own Seroru” custom figure offered as an admission benefit.

As visitors make their way through the exhibition, they can select the body color and customizable parts for a palm-sized Seroru. With more than 200 possible combinations, each visitor can create a different Seroru to take home. The experience brings to life Takahashi’s vision, conceived from the early stages of the project, of creating an exhibition that both children and adults can enjoy.

Instead of simply receiving a finished object, visitors choose colors and parts and take part in the process themselves, allowing a new Seroru to emerge from each person’s individual sensibility. In this way, visitors also become participants in creating the world of Seroru.

The World of Seroru Continues Beyond the Exhibition

The exhibition’s first collection of original merchandise extends the world of Seroru into another form.

The lineup includes T-shirts and acrylic keychains featuring the exhibition’s key visual, as well as T-shirts with original illustrations drawn by Takahashi, embroidered sweatshirts, plush keychains, and book covers, with particular attention paid to details including fabric selection and sewing.

Encountered within the temporary setting of an exhibition, Seroru can then enter everyday life through T-shirts, book covers, and keychains. Seen in this way, the merchandise becomes another means through which the character’s world extends beyond the exhibition space.

The items will be available at the venues, with made-to-order sales also scheduled through ONLINE PARCO in two separate periods.

How Far Will the World Created by Kaito Takahashi Expand?

Alongside his activities as a member of King & Prince and as an actor, Kaito Takahashi has continued to broaden his involvement in visual expression, including serving as an ambassador and navigator for art exhibitions. For his first solo exhibition, Takahashi himself takes part in the planning, placing his original character Seroru at its center.

A character that began as a single illustration takes on three-dimensional, moving, and spatial forms through collaboration with others, before branching into more than 200 variations through the hands of visitors.

Rather than presenting one fixed and completed world, Fushigi na Seroru Exhibition may reveal a world that continues to expand with every new imagination that enters it.

Beginning in Shibuya and traveling to six cities across Japan, the exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter a new dimension of Kaito Takahashi as a creative artist, with Seroru as the guide.
