Armani releases new eyewear movie depicting "encounter"

May 12, 2014

Giorgio Armani has released a short film, "Moment of Encounter," which tells the story of their new eyewear collection. Set in Shanghai, the film follows a man and woman repeatedly passing each other in an aquarium, an elevator, and more, depicting the "moment of encounter." The acetate frames in this collection come in two colors, Havana and Horn, and are available in matte, glossy, and engraved finishes. Special rivets are attached to the front and temple tips, and the "Frames of Life" logo, the title of the eyewear campaign, is engraved on the inside of the left temple.

In the work, the female character wears the gray and light Havana acetate optical frame "AR7004" (27,000 yen), metal clip-on (9,000 yen), and tortoiseshell acetate front "AR7028" (33,000 yen). The male character wears the reproduction oval optical frame "AR5027TK" made from ultra-lightweight and durable titanium, and the streamlined optical frame "AR6016J-AR5024J" (both 34,000 yen, released in June).

The official website displays the paths the two characters walked on a map, and an interactive piece displaying each character's monologue is also available. Currently, the English version is the only version available.
