"Manolo Blahnik: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards," a documentary film about Manolo Blahnik, a shoe brand enthusiastically supported by many celebrities and fashionistas, will be released in Japan on December 23rd. Manolo Blahnik's Perfect Shoes series, elegant yet said to be the "world's only stiletto heels you can run in," has adorned the feet of celebrities including Princess Diana. They also became a huge hit after appearing as Carrie's beloved shoes in the hit TV drama "Sex and the City." Since then, the brand has been known for providing full support to director Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette" and for receiving an Honorary Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2007. The film captures the atelier where the "dream shoes" that captivate women around the world are created, his tranquil home in Bath, England, and his archive of 30,000 shoes. The film explores Manolo's creative process, revealing his eccentric thought process, stylish and beautiful sketches, and a glimpse into the atelier staff as they handcraft the perfect shoes in his Milan, Italy, atelier. Also appearing among the brand's loyal customers are Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue (known for "The Devil Wears Prada"); singer Rihanna; shoe designer Charlotte Olympia; model Iman, wife of the late David Bowie; and fashion designer John Galliano. Additionally, Manolo's private life is revealed by his longtime friend Paloma Picasso, daughter of painter Picasso and current Tiffany jewelry designer; and actress Anjelica Huston, who appeared on the cover of Vogue alongside Manolo in their youth. This film offers a glimpse into the charming Manolo, who loves gardening and has a playful side.

The film will be released nationwide at Shinjuku Piccadilly, Bunkamura Le Cinema, and other theaters.
