Setagaya Bread Festival, one of Japan's largest bread events, will be held on October 9th and 10th at venues including IID Setagaya School of Manufacturing, Setagaya Park, Ikejiri Elementary School Second Gymnasium, Setagaya Gaya Gayakan, and member stores of the Mishuku 420 Shopping District.
This event brings together a variety of breads from all over Japan, centered around bakeries in Setagaya, an area known for its delicious breads. Last year's 5th festival featured approximately 120 vendors and attracted 25,000 bread lovers.
This year's Setagaya Bread Festival is themed around "Bread and Love," and features vendors from Setagaya Ward bakeries such as Setagaya Bread Market, Bonheur, Thank You, salut!!, Signifiant Signifie, Boulangerie Puku-gari, and Komugi to Yeast Hamadaya. Bakeries from outside Setagaya Ward (Tokyo) will include ecru, Linde German Bread, Mahlzeit, Bakery Protea, Gonno Bakery Market, Pan Ossurir, and Bonjour Bon. Bakeries from across Japan will also be participating, including bagel specialty store Coco Bagel, Kawagoe Bakery Rakuraku, Oheso Cafe & Bakery, and Goat's Gift. Additionally, a variety of bread accompaniments will be available. Approximately 120 vendors are scheduled to participate each day, including Bocchi, Setouchi Jam's Garden, bee brand x Bonouchi Bee Farm, NECKTIE design office, THE GLOBE CAFE/H TOKYO, Cafe Tenango, Pan Motto, PRANA CHAI, and SWITCH COFFEE TOKYO. Also available will be the ever-selling "Mishuku Three-Color Bread," named after the "3" in Mishuku, the hosting area. More than 20 bakeries will participate in the "Mishuku Three-Color Bread Contest," which will determine the "No. 1 Mishuku Three-Color Bread." There will also be a stamp rally, where visitors can collect stamps from each bakery and receive exclusive merchandise exclusive to the event. In addition, official merchandise such as this year's official character t-shirts and bread bags will also be on sale. Collaboration merchandise with bread-loving artists and creators connected to Setagaya will also be on sale.
