MARNI will hold a limited-time event, "MARNI SUMMER HOUSE," from August 10th to 23rd at the Kotokoto Stage on the third floor of the Hankyu Umeda Main Store and at the MARNI FLOWER CAFE. The event will showcase the special home collection, just unveiled at Milan Design Week 2016. The collection will feature a variety of items crafted by Colombian women using beautifully painted wooden parts, metal frames, and braided PVC cord in vibrant color combinations. In addition to interior items, the event will also feature bamboo umbrellas (¥55,000) handcrafted by Japanese umbrella maker Takekasa; five types of folding fans (¥6,000) featuring Marni's archive patterns; and furoshiki (wrapping cloth) (¥7,200) hand-dyed in collaboration with Art Nishimura, a Kyoto yuzen dyeing company of the Chiso Group with a 460-year history. Also on sale will be new designs of popular bento boxes, a summery drawstring bag with a vibrant two-pattern combination and handle (37,200 yen), and assorted boxes with biscuits set inside (1,040 to 5,500 yen).

A workshop will also be held on August 11th where visitors can freely cut the colorful PVC cord used in the home collection to make their own original kaleidoscope.
