The 15th annual Yokohama Oktoberfest 2016, a Yokohama autumn tradition, will be held from September 30th to October 16th at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Square. The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is a historic building that incorporates German architectural elements, and since 2003, Yokohama Oktoberfest has offered an authentic Oktoberfest atmosphere. This year, the event will offer a record-breaking 130+ beer varieties, including exclusive fest beers created specifically for the event. Beers from the 350-year-old Tucher Brewery in Nuremberg, Bavaria, and the Riegele Brewery, run by a world beer sommelier champion, will be making their Japan debut. Five breweries from the "Six Great Munich Breweries," officially authorized by the German government to brew for Oktoberfest, will also be participating. The food menu will feature a wide variety of German-inspired dishes, including sausages created by Lo Scheider, Germany's highest-ranking ham master, and traditional regional dishes like Eisbein and Linderbraten. The venue will seat a maximum of 2,652 people, including a massive 30-by-50-meter main tent and a wooden deck. In keeping with the authentic Munich Oktoberfest, the tent will be decorated with classic German treats like pretzels and lebkuchen. Also, as part of the "TK Project," a collaboration between Kirin and Tono City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan's leading hop-producing region, Tono hops will be used for decorations, along with craft beer made with Tono hops and food featuring Tono Padrón (a type of vegetable). Numerous other collaborative campaigns will also be held. Campaigns include a daily lottery where 10 people who follow the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse's official Twitter account and retweet the campaign announcement will be entered into to win free admission, and a Happy Birthday campaign where one group per day will be guaranteed a seat in the main tent and celebrate their birthday with live music from a German orchestra.

In addition, from September 17th to October 16th, the in-house campaign "Red Brick Herbst" will be held, featuring Oktoberfest and German-themed items, as well as Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse exclusive items.
