Pancakes that taste just like Mont Blanc! Autumn and Halloween limited menu from J.S. PANCAKE CAFE

Aug 23, 2016

J.S. PANCAKE CAFE, a joint venture with JOURNAL STANDARD, will be holding a fair called "A TASTE OF AUTUMN" from September 5th to November 21st, featuring the flavors of autumn in Japan.

The fair will offer a seasonal menu that combines pancakes with the flavors of autumn in Japan, based on the theme of "Japanese elegance." Using ingredients from all over Japan, the menu features sweets that exude a sense of Japanese beauty and tranquility while also exuding a playful spirit.

The "Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc Pancake" (1,380 yen) is a pancake designed to look like a Mont Blanc. The fluffy, chewy pancake is topped with a generous amount of Japanese chestnut cream from Shimanto and sprinkled with chestnuts in their skins from Kumamoto Prefecture, allowing you to fully enjoy chestnuts, a quintessential autumn flavor. Other treats available include the "Shine Muscat Parfait" (880 yen), a pear sorbet and milk-flavored blancmange topped with Shine Muscat grapes from Yamanashi Prefecture, and the "Purple Sweet Potato Tart" (580 yen), made with purple sweet potatoes from Kagoshima. Also, to celebrate Halloween, from October 3rd to 31st, they'll be offering the "Golden Pumpkin Halloween Pancakes" (1,380 yen), which are made with plenty of pumpkin. The pancakes are made with a black cocoa batter, topped with a dynamic layer of Hokkaido organic pumpkin puree (over 20% sugar) and rich vanilla ice cream, and finished with a drizzle of chocolate sauce. The marshmallows spilling out of the waffle cone and the pumpkin popping out as you eat the vanilla ice cream add to the fun, Halloween-inspired dessert.
